ROTARY JOINTS - Fucntion and types
Rotary joints or rotary unions ensure a sealed and reliable transfer of the medium used, such as air or liquids, between a stationary machine part and a rotating shaft or between two counter-rotating shafts. They must be able to reliably withstand high speeds and pressures.
SRJ01 Series
Our rotary unions of the SRJ01 series are single passage rotary joints for coolant or oil (one-way or one-passage rotary joints). They are equipped with their own bearings and are also known as “rotor-mounted” or “housing-mounted types” depending on the connection type. Since the rotor, stator and connection for the medium supply are housed in one housing, the rotary unions in this series can be easily installed and changed.
SRJ02 Series
SRJ02 series are also single passage rotary joints for coolant or oil (one-way rotary or one-passage unions). But, this series has built-in bearing. These rotary unions are also named bearingless or two-part rotary unions. They consist of a rotor and the housing, which contains the stator and the medium connection.
SRJ03 Series
The SRJ03 series enables working with combined supply and discharge of the medium (2-way rotary union). Like the SRJ 01 series, this self-supported version is also a closed unit because the rotor, stator and medium supply are compactly in one housing.
Single-flow rotary unions are generally used in machine tools.
